Language switcher not showing

Can anyone please let me know what I have to do in order to have the language switcher displayed somewhere?

It currently only shows is title: "Language switcher "

The Home Menu item for the two Languages are missing.

1) Create a Menu each for EN and PT.

2) Create a New Menu item that will be the Home for EN in the menu created at 1. Tag to language EN.

3) Set Menu item as Default. It will now be marked with a British Flag.

4) Repeat 2 and 3 for PT.

The languages will show up in the Language Switcher Module when they are configured correctly.

Thanks, but now when I navigate to the home page, the URL is redirected to ....com/en/ automatically.

Why is this happening?? The default language is set to be p-PT...

I've read all those tutorials, and in fact I have been trying to translate some landing pages and the home page to English. I've invested like 16 hours going through all sorts of problems and so far I haven't managed to understand how this can be so HORRIBLY COMPLICATED!!!!

All I want now is to have a page in English or give up and go home!

I would suggest installing Joomla in a different environment. During the middle of the installation, do not choose to install sample data (choice - None).

Towards the end of the installation, before deleting the folder titled "installation", you could install additional languages and choose to enable the Multilingual feature. Please refer https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Installing ... _Languages.

The newly created site would be a multilingual site and you have see in the back-end how various settings are configured.
