Intro page with language language selection
Hi,
before opening my Joomla website, I would like user to se three different language flags to choose from. For example, after user selection of German flag, German version of website will be opened.
What is best way to acomplish this? Should I make some custom index.html, or there is some ready Joomla extension?
Thanks.
Best regards.
Adi

Yes. It is visible in footer.
However, my client wants three language flags on intropage when someone opens myclientwebsite.com, each one linked to different language.

Only solution I know is creating an index.html and make sure the languagefilter plugin is set to display the language code.

The landing page is your default menu item.
Moving the module from the footer to the top of the Page will work better.

What about showing the Switcher Module in a Modal?
What code to use will depends of your template.

@Per Yngve Berg
The point here is for what you propose one has to be absolutely sure that ALL items are associated.
Otherwise if one changes language via the switcher while browsing the site, it may find again the modal to switch language in the lang home page. Not very user friendly.
Grace to the language cookie, if using the index.html, any further selection of a language when no association will load the home page of the selected language (without a modal) and not the html.
