Irish Language Package for Joomla 3

Hi,

Our website sits on Joomla 3.10.11 with Irish Language Package 3.8.13.1. There is a new update available 3.10.12.1 -after 5 years of no updates. The update won't install. When I looked at the joomla website it mentions install on Joomla version 3.10.12. I cannot find this version? Any advice would be welcome.

Officially there is no Joomla version 3.10.12. The last version of Joomla! 3 is v3.10.11 that was released on August 16, 2022.

I believe that this language pack is autogenerated from Crowdin that Joomla uses for translation services. In crowdin, the version will be increased after the release of Stable version of Joomla! Probably that is what happened.

The download page of the latest Irish language pack ga-IE mentions that the package is for Joomla 3.10.12.

I have done so and got the error above.

I repackaged the latest Irish language pack that has been published. I am attached the repackaged Irish language package file. Made sure that it has the label of 3.10.11 and the date as March 2023.

I have tested the install and uninstall of the attached repackaged Irish language package file and it works fine.

Please feel free to use it.

I have not touched any translation. Also, I do not know how much of translation has been done.

Yes, I did. I tested by installing the 3.8.13.1 pack and then the pack I have attached. I even uninstalled the language pack and reinstalled the language pack.

This language pack has to be installed just like any other extension.

Hi, There is a new Irish language update 3.10.12 which again won't install without error - would it be possible to create a language pack like the previous one? Thanks

I'm running up against this problem today also. It appears the source folder for the files was zipped up directly in these 3.10 builds, rather than actually packaging the files as a proper Joomla package release.

I went looking for the language pack repo and found this one below, but the last release showing here is 3.7.5.1 from 2017.

So far, I cannot find any evidence of where subsequent language packs are coming from. Anybody else have any clues on that front?

The Github repository may not be the latest; the translation project can be found here: https://joomla.crowdin.com/ and I would assume downloads are available there, as well as the ability to contribute to the translations.
