Language direction

Post by keianrad » Fri Sep 08, 2017 5:29 am

After I update J! 3.7.2 to 3.7.3 language direction doesn't work in my multilingual website (en, fa and ar).
it uses default language direction for all languages. for example if I set English as main language that is LTR, it effects to other languages that are RTL.

I tried with several templates and Joomla default templates but it didn't solved. It seems that it's related to Joomla core.

What is your site's URL?

Also, be known that the latest stable version of Joomla! 3.7.5. Please upgrade your site to the latest version. After this update the language packs.

Note:
Make a copy of the site (files and the database content) before upgrading.

Thank you for look at my website.
The default language is Farsi (RTL). If you look at the English side, you will see that it is RTL too.
English Direction should be LTR but it is RTL.
If I change the default language to English, Farsi side will be LTR.
In other words, the default language direction effects to all other languages and when I switch to other one, direction doesn't change.
I tried with different templates such as joomla default templates but it didn't solve. It seems it's related to joomla core.

When I user the English flag, I also get a header with fa-IR
<html lang="fa-ir" dir="rtl" data-config='{"twitter":0,"plusone":0,"facebook":0,"style":"bluegray"}'>

This means your my.studyabroadagency.com is not set as should.

1. Display the multilingual status modal in back-end to check if no errors there.
If none, then the problem may be related to one of your extensions. Compare that site to the one which works fine, i.e. fabrik is used in the site with problems

2. If I use https://www.studyabroadagency.com/en/ all languages display correctly

HI

do you also know if you have rtl language and have a menu icon for example a home icon how you can make that set up to the other direction like rtl?

Is there some css etc that you can do with this or what is the trick to also have the menu icon rtl working?

Folks, the original poster has solved his issue.
Concerning the menu icon position, let me check what we get here on default Joomla template.

When using Protostar as template and adding an icon to the menu item (below for Persian), the icon is rightfully displayed RTL.

Just make sure you have

Code: Select all

direction: rtl;
in your CSS when you use a RTL language
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I have the latest Joomla 3.8.1 and have the same problem with language direction. Is there any fix to the problem?
Will be grateful for any clue to solve the problem!

Hi,
Unfortunately I did not see how he fixed the problem??? He said that: I did not fix the problem.
I have the same issue and my joomla website is update at all time.
The same issue is still running and I have the same problem.
How can it be fixed?

@masbbagh768
The original poster, if I remember well, had issues with the fabrik 3rd party extension.

It is quite impossible to help you without knowing precisely what is your own issue, extensions used, link to your site, language used, template, joomla version, etc.
