multilanguage templates

Post by angie_s » Thu Dec 14, 2017 8:58 am

Hello!

I would like to ask if a joomla template has to be multilanguage-ready so that we can use different languages.
Right now we have a quite old template (first installed in 2014) and we are not sure what we have to check before continuing with translation.

Should we just choose a brand new template instead and save valuable time?

Thank you!

All depends if
1. your template is bootstrap ready
2. if it is RTL ready if you use RTL languages as Arabic or Persian
3. if its code let's use or not various Home pages, one for ALL and one for each language. Some older templates with their own framework did not do that.

Ok so far.
But, we would like to use the bulgarian language and the version is marked with yellow. Would that be a problem?

No problem. It just means that some strings may be missing and would display in English.
If you see such strings, just create an override for it with the Bulgarian value.
