Strange URLS - Joomla multilingual website
Hi,
My site navettedisney-aeroport.com multilingual site and created with joomla 3.8.3
The site works well and the Multilingual Status is ok, but I have strange URLS:
I followed the tutorial of Joomla! Documentation (3.x:Setup a Multilingual Site) to create a multilingual website
I have created a menu (Main Menu (ALL)) with menu item (Home-AL) assigned to language All and I have unpublished the module associated to the Main Menu (ALL)
The problem is that I have strange URLs:
For example:
+ for my English version (mysite.com/en), I have these URLS:
mysite.com/en/home-all.html
mysite.com/en/home.html
For the Spanish version (mysite.com/es):
mysite.com/es/home-all.html
mysite.com/es/home.html
To solve this problem I made a redirection 301, but I want to know why these URLS are generated
Thanks in advance for your help

Re: Strange URLS - Joomla multilingual website
I also suspect that there could be some issues with the template. The reason being, whatever language is active (e.g. English), when some clicks on the logo, it takes them to the default language's (French) home page. The expected behavior is that when some clicks on the logo, they are taken to the home page of the active language.

Re: Strange URLS - Joomla multilingual website
Thanks Imani and Jean Marie
I do not think the problem comes from the template.
I have this problem with two sites that use different templates.
PS: I use plugins SH404SEF and JCH Optimizer pro
Thanks

Yes that's true it's another problem, I do not know how to solve itwhatever language is active (e.g. English), when some clicks on the logo, it takes them to the default language's (French) home page.
Thanks

Re: Strange URLS - Joomla multilingual website
Please use forum private messages as it seems your mail never got here.
ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=14
The fact that you are using a 301 redirection + using SH404SEF makes it difficult to solve though.
Concerning the logo href, some code has to be added somewhere in your Gantry template.

Re: Strange URLS - Joomla multilingual website
1. The wrong urls you describe don't come from Joomla core.
Each Home menu item has a different alias and when getting on homes via the Switcher, the urls are fine
The issue certainly comes from your use of sh404SEF
Example: This looks like it is a back-end url and not a frontend one 2. Concerning the url for the logo, this is not accessible via template editing as it is set in your version of Gantry (I guess) and I would need the full template package to find out where it lies.
But this is not a free template and anyway I can't find it on the web.

Re: Strange URLS - Joomla multilingual website
Solved your logo issue.
Edit each Template styles layout and add the URL Language Code to the logo URL.

but now i have now a small problem that can cause a duplicate content:
for the italian language when i click on the logo i get www.site.com/it (without slash)
and when i click on Home menu, i get www.site.com/it/ (with slash at the end)
I think it's better to edit each template styles layout and add the URL Language Code with slash: it/
