Menu item association not working in a multilingual site

Post by ita4012 » Wed May 16, 2018 4:24 pm

Hi. My site is multilingual.

The menu item corresponding to this page,

https://www.waterwind.it/new/it/windsur ... -foto.html

in the backend has been associated with the following voices of the English and French menus

https://www.waterwind.it/new/en/windsur ... hotos.html

https://www.waterwind.it/new/fr/planche ... hotos.html

Despite having set these associations, when you click on the flag for the transition from the Italian to the corresponding English or French items, you are redirected to the following items

https://www.waterwind.it/new/en/windsur ... ports.html

https://www.waterwind.it/new/fr/planche ... hotos.html

which correspond to hidden menu items (subitems of those that should appear instead).

Both the menu items and the sub-items that are incorrectly displayed are blog categories menu items that must display the same category of articles (but with modules and other different features).

I used the same setting for this other menu item

https://www.waterwind.it/new/it/windsurf/spot.html

associated with these other two

https://www.waterwind.it/new/en/windsurfing/spots.html

https://www.waterwind.it/new/fr/planche ... iques.html

and in this case, the association set in the backend works correctly, without appearing of the hidden sub-items, which in this case, too, I created.

Apparently, the backend configuration of all items and their hidden subitems is always identical.

Is there someone able to solve the puzzle?

Thank you

I guess you replied yourself to your question when using the word "Apparently".

It is quite impossible to help you without accessing your back-end as Super User and see what you have done precisely.

I solved. In the case of badly functioning menu items, I also set the category-level association of articles in various languages. This probably prevailed over the association of menu items, and created the problem. By removing the association at the category level (as it was for the case of the menu items rightly working), the problem has been solved. Thanks.
