Remove non-installed language packs

Post by Yototoyoto » Fri Dec 14, 2018 7:51 am

Hi ;-)
For my website (Joomla 3.9.1), I never installed these languages: Chinese Simplified, German, Portuguese Brazil and Russian. Yet, from time to time, when I am in the backend of the site, I am asked to updates these four extensions.
When I go to Extensions > Languages > installed, I only see the two languages I did install: Dutch and English.
How to get rid of these annoying notifications?
Thanks!

Search for them in Extensions -> Manage.

Go to administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=manage
filter by package.

If they show there, uninstall them.

Then go to administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=updatesites
If any of them are there, delete them and rebuild.

Hi - Thanks for your help. Is this in the backend? So the url is
https://www.mysite.nl/administrator/ind ... iew=manage
filter by package?
When I try that, I get a 404 error:
View is not found [name, type, prefix]: managefilterbypackage, html, installerView

Filtering by package is done by using the searchtools

Have you done
"Then go to administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=updatesites
If any of them are there, delete them and rebuild."

So I went there and tried to delete the four languages. But then, I get an error notification:
'Accredited Joomla Translation Update Site Cannot Be Removed'

I may be able to help you if I have access as Super User to your site and as well to your database through phpMyadmin.
Just send me a message with the access.
