Can't set up a multilangual site

Post by Juan cant code » Thu Mar 28, 2019 5:29 pm

Hey! :D

For my school project and a project for my brother's business I need to set up a simple website. Doing it in one language went fine, but I need it to be in two languages (everything on the site, including menus and dropdowns etc.) but I can't get it to work properly. I followed this guide:
https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Setup_a_Multilingual_Site
but still all I can view on the site are things from the Main Menu section, not the "English" and "Slovenian" section. Where did I go wrong? Is it even possible to do that?

The site looks like this:

(I hope it works, if not use https://imgur.com/a/5Shf6k6 )

It already has the language switch.

Mod. Note: Relocated the topic to the Language Forum.

What does the Language Status Administrator Module say?

Sorry cannot open your link. Upload the image to the forum please.

I have attached the screenshot of the site. The displayed menu is the Main Menu. What I am trying to get is the Slovenian menu to be the main menu and the English menu to become the main menu when selected, I hope you understand. What is Language Status Administrator Module? Where can I find it? I apologize, I am a "noob" in Joomla.

Go to Module Manager and toggle the filter from site to Administrator.
You shall now see the Language Status Module and be able to publish it.
It will show as a link in the lower left corner of the Administrator.

How does your template show the menu? By a module or by other ways?

Un-publish the module for the Main Menu and publish modules for the Languages.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I was busy with school stuff.
The Language Status Administrator Module shows what I have attached to this post.
As for how my template shows menus I am not sure, I use Cloudbase3.
I unpublished the main menu, but now what I get is when I open the page there's only one menu visible, when I select Slovenian they are all there in Slovenian and when I select English there's only one visible, but it's in English as it should be. The others won't show.

(and yes, I have unpublished the main menu after taking the screenshot, sorry about that)

The menu must be published. It's only the module you un-publish (module manager).

Alright, the menu is published and the module is un-published, but the page still isn't showing correctly.
I can attach the site backup, if that helps.
