Switch date format and label names on specific articles to another language

Post by dejansoftware » Sun Aug 23, 2020 7:36 pm

Hi,

How can I change/switch date format and label names on specific articles to another language.

For example, my site is in Serbian language and I would like just a faw articles to have on English language.

Both languages are installed and this article is set to English in article settings but still, date format, label name (created, updated on..., hits...) are still in Serbian and I would like to have them in English language.

Please help.

Thanks
Dejan

I'm not familiar with the language capabilities of Joomla but perhaps you could install a plugin, such as a language selector, possibly? Refer to https://extensions.joomla.org/category/languages/ for ideas.

I'm not sure if their functionality is capable to translate page per page, or entire site based on selected language.

This may also assist: https://docs.joomla.org/Help39:Extensio ... e_Switcher

You could create a Language override of the English language file https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Language_O ... _in_Joomla
https://www.joomlashack.com/blog/joomla ... te-format/

How does Serbian date format differ from 24/Aug/2020 ?

From your description it looks like your's is a monolingual site (in Serbian language). Please let us know whether it is a monolingual or multilingual site.

Yes, it is a monolingual site.

Here is printscreen od backend

and fronend

of this specific article in English Language.

So there must be a good way to do this without additional plugins?

Perhaps you need to make it multilingual?
