URLs in multilanguage

Post by tamirl » Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:15 am

Hi,
I've a multilanguage site, with the following problem.
Hope you could help.
I have 2 lang:
1. english
2. spnaish

I have the page mydomain/my_english_page

sometimes google leads to :
mydomain/en/my_english_page

sometimes to:
mydomain/es/my_english_page
(the page does not exists)

e.g., the site can't lead to the correct lang.

Can anyone help with the correct definitions?
Thanks

Did you associate the menu item "my_english_page" with its Spanish version "my_spanish_page" ?

Thanks,
I haven't.
Should I always associate?
There are menu items which does not have an associate.
Can you please advise what should I do in such cases?

Joomla needs to know what page to display when a visitor changes language. You configure that with Association.

I would always create menu associations if possible. When a menu item does not have an association, Joomla's default behavior is to switch to the homepage of the other language.
