How to remove the /en from all the URLS?

Post by tigger » Wed Aug 04, 2021 2:07 pm

Hello,

I have 2 languages in my site.

The language switcher module seems to be working.

This is what I see in the module manager:

Now, when I navigate to the site, the URL adds mydomain.com/en

The default language is pt, so how do I remove the /en from all the URLS?

Review of the document https://docs.joomla.org/Special:MyLangu ... ge_Plugins would be of help.

Please pay attention to the options "Language Selection for new visitors", "Remove URL Language Code", and "Cookie Lifetime".

Note:
Based on the screenshot you have shared, it looks like you have published the menu module that displays the menu that contains the Default Menu Item assigned to ALL languages - this menu item is identified as a Golden Yellow Star. Please unpublish that menu module.

Thanks, I've realized my browser settings are English by default, and that is showing me the site in English by default :-)

As per your note, I've unpublished the module with the "Home" default menu and to my surprise the menu items are still there! Uau!

Good! If you look at the Multilingual Status, now, it should not show the informational message about this.

Actually, it still displays:

"Warning This site is set as a multilingual site. The menu module displaying the Home menu item set to language "All" should not be published. "

Interesting... If the menu module is unpublished, the multilingual status would show as follows:

Anyway, as long as it works, it is okay.
