Automate translation using export and import to XLIFF format

Post by ollehar » Wed Mar 23, 2022 10:56 am

Heyo,

We'd like to automate our localization process by exporting and importing via XLIFF format, used by many professional translators. We used to do this with FaLang, using a custom script, but now we'd like to do it with native language support in Joomla instead. However, automatically keeping all associations between menus, modules and articles seem challenging. Does anyone have any experience with this situation? Is there a way to batch-copy menus together with modules and articles, to a new language?

Grateful for any feedback

Hm, maybe it would be possible to create a link between translated article and translated menu item, by using the association table...

Hi,

I have see you have make a script in the XLIFF format , in Falang it's an XML very close to XLIFF , it's possible to share your code to add it in Falang

Best regards
Stéphane (Falang team)
