A major SEO oversight in Joomla?

Post by effex100 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 2:05 pm

I'm not sure if this is a massive oversite or simply me missing something somewhere.

In Joomla 3.0, you can set a custom browser title (as in the <title>...</title> tag) for menu items but I can't find any such setting directly for articles. There is a "MetaData Options" tab on each article, but it doesn't include the title tag.

It's a standard SEO practice to set the page title (the text in the h1 or h2 tag on the page ) differently from the browser title and doing this also has benefits for improving social media sharing.

However, it seems there's no way to do this to an article that doesn't have a menu item mapped to it. Am I missing something?

It's a bit strange this hasn't been noticed before.

And you're right, you can't change it. Both appear to be the same.
Also, my article titles on my test site are automatically in h2.
How do I change that ?
