Modify Article Tag: Remove data-permalink

Postby tomnibus » Wed Aug 16, 2017 2:39 pm

Google is indexing pages I don't want indexed. It's coming up with pages that I really don't want public.

I ran a quick "Site Map" plugin to see what URLs it's seeing and I realized that on my home page, I have featured articles and within the source code of the site there are these <article> tags that show a data-permalink option that has the URLs I don't like. For instance, this one:

<article class="uk-article" data-permalink="">

I don't want this data-permalink in there! I don't link titles and there is no reason.

So, can I remove this from the system? Or do I create an entry in robots.txt to not index 9-uncatagorized? (I realized it's spelled wrong)

How do I prevent it from including these in google searches?
