How to Fix XML Sitemap Issue in My Website?

Hi Friends,

I have created a website https://www.officialmexicoinsurance.com/ in Joomla CMS But When I checked its sitemap https://www.officialmexicoinsurance.com/sitemap.xml, It showing Error ?

How to Fix this issue?

hi
seems like you use component for sitemap generations, so you must check the path for xml in it.
for example, for OsMap it will be your_site/index.php?option=com_osmap&view=xml&id=1.
so check in your component admin panel for some field with such link.

@mandville, the question was not about html page, but .xml for google bot.
this specific page generated on special url and must be put in robots.txt for better/faster site crawling by search bots.

No it wasn't. The OP just said that the url he checked (for his sitemap) doesn't work). They did not specify where they are going to place it when they fix the issue.

@Webdongle, yes. If u put topic in SEO thread, ask about .xml sitemap - it's just mean nothing.
It's just mean u wan working xml file for... something abstract .

Once the OP has worked out (and successfully tested) the sitemap url then robots.txt is not the only place he can place it. The OP was not asking about placing the url in the robots.txt they are asking how to get the correct link.

@Webdongle my answer was not about paste in robots txt, but about "TS asking about XML not HTML sitemap". So addition info was about difference of this type of pages.
And if u try to read the thread u will see what SharkyKZ already give the correct answer.

I use online xml sitemaps .com works for me then just upload to the public_html folder job done.

Can I ask why? I have used for ages, the sitemap shows up all my links and when submitted to Google webmaster tools no errors are shown... https://www.peterhaken.com/sitemap.xml

It does not just list links from menu items it also lists the non seo friendly urls that Joomla generates on the fly. To me that is 'doesn't work on Joomla' because there is no control over what is generated.

Yes ok I agree, i tend to remove unwanted stuff, I do also use J Sitemap pro, I was just advising there are quick simple methods avilable.
