SEF URLs on litespeed server

can somebody help with this.
How can I get rid of index.php from the website URLs on litespeed server.

Thank you for an answer:) I have tried that solution many times, but the Use URL rewriting option in Joomla is only available for Apache or IIS 7.

I don't know much about LiteSpeed Server except for what little I've read. It's supposed to be "an Apache drop-in replacement, meaning it uses the same configuration format as Apache." For that reason I can't see why you can't configure the .htaccess file in the same way as if your website was on an Apache web server. Did you try to do that?

All the tutorials tell to rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess, but in the root folder both of those exists already..

Have you tried renaming the file .htaccess (in your root folder) to htaccess.old and then rename the file htaccess.txt (in your root folder) to .htaccess
