site meta description not updating in source code

I updated the meta description for my site using the site configuration page - however it only updates the meta description in the source code for the administration site - it won't update it for the actual site. Nor will doing it for the article itself - or in the menu options.

running joomla 3.9.3 on stmarkscr . org

Clear all cache in browser and Joomla admin and re-check.

I tried that... It doesn't fix the issue. It should also be noted that my meta settings were changed well over a month ago, and it still hasn't updated in google - however the site title had.

There's gotta be something, somewhere that isn't letting the settings push to the main site.

Did this get resolved? There's several places a description can be set so check the article and menu item meta description.

No it hasn't - I have tried updating the descriptions in the article and menu area already - same result - won't update.

Is this an issue with Joomla or with Google not indexing your site? I'm assuming you have set options for index and follow?
