Site Map Creation

Post by Dragon41673 » Fri May 31, 2019 5:07 pm

All,

I've NEVER done a site map, and I've been reading a bit, but I'm not super technical. Is there a recommended way of creating a site map? How has your experience been in making one? Is there a good program to use that will be able to help me do that?

I'm hosted on Siteground, and have read what they have available...but I just want to make sure it all goes well and I start getting my site crawled.

Thank you

yes, OSMap is free and is a good choice https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/osmap/
I use JSitemap, it is not free but has extra features I like to use including reviewing Google data from within the Joomla admin control panel. https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... /jsitemap/

Thanks Mary...I was noticing that due to my HTTPS settings...some won't work and I'll have to use paid ones.

I was starting to look at Aimy...any experience with that?

I use one of the Aimy extension (the one that manages H1 and H2 headings) I use it on many sites with success. I don't have experience with their sitemap extension though.

For those of you that has OSMap...I cannot find info stating that the free version supports HTTPS sites on their site.

As with Aimy extension...only the pro supports it.

So does OSMap free support HTTPS?

Also...I cannot see if it supports hikashop...does anyone know?

Webdongle...

I've got OSMap and the HikaShop plugin installed, seems to be working fine. I'd appreciate it if I could pick your brain on settings since this is my first time.

In your experience, does allowing ALL products to show up in the map rather than just categories benefit search engines at all...or no?

Is there a way to make the listing to NOT be 1 single column? My page goes like the Energizer bunny...just keeps going & going & going as I have about 3000 items.

Thank you!

I prefer to add all menu items
The list is in a format that Search engines recognise.
