Just wondering what SEO functions are included with the latest verison of Joomla out of the box, or is there a plugin required to get the most out of Joomla?

Joomla has good SEO out of the box if you know what to do:

• You can configure: Browser page title, use a semantic HTML structure, add images with alt tags, use meta description (not for indexing but for text on Google SERP page), etc
• The URL structure of your website is based on how you configure the menu items (the title "alias" is used in the URL)
• If you enable the Modern Routing System, you can display articles without numbers in the URL, see: https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:New_Routing_System

You don't need non-core extensions ("plugins") for SEO.

However there's an extension that makes it easier to create articles that are SEO optimized for keywords (sort of Yoast for Wordpress)

And I often use a free 3rd party sitemap to create an XML sitemap (based on the menu) for search engines.

How can I do no-follow link for my site on joomla? ...or that is forbiden...
