Custom SEO Fields for articles

I recently noticed the "custom SEO fields" tab when editing a page. Are there any articles on how to use this? Should this field be populated with page-specific keywords and how should they be presented?
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Joomla! Forum.

There is no such tab in core Joomla! Probably you are using an extension that shows this tab. Suggest referring the documentation of the extension that is being used for SEO.
