To create a template builder would require extensive coding knowledge (I'm not sure you mean that though). Template builders (also known as Page Builders, fall into a broad category known as Content Construction Kits - CCKs) and are extensions you can find on the extension directory.

You install them like any other extension. Examples include T4, Gantry, Helix, Yootheme.

If you're new to Joomla, the following links will be useful:

* Joomla Documentation

*Information on Joomla Templates

* CCK Listing

* Page Builders

For more, try searching your favourite search engine for "joomla template builder" or "Joomla Page Builder".

Hi
yes, thats what I meant.. almost.
I am a developer myself, and so already have a framework of a builder (called GrapeJS) , but I dont know how its supposed to be build so that it can fit into Joomla. Thats the one thing I wasnt quite sure about, and didnt find it in the documentation.

Help, yours, appreciated it would be.

thanks!

:)

Ah, OK, so you want create your own equivalent of Yootheme,or whatever.

You will need to then develop (I expect....I'm not a developer), your template builder as a suite of plugins, modules, components.

Not sure where you looked for the documentation, but it's right here:
https://docs.joomla.org/Portal:Developers and more resources here: https://developer.joomla.org/

Maybe install something like Yootheme, and take a look at how it is built that will give you some idea of the work involved. You don't even need to install it, just download it and take a look at the source code. (that would be possible for free ones, I don't know if YooTheme specifically is commercial or not).
