No templates in Download section

Hello guys,

I can't find any templates on joomla.org.
You have only extensions https://extensions.joomla.org and, as I correctly understand, those are modules and plugins available for download either gratis or paid.
Where may I find the section with templates? I'd like to choose a template for my site and then decide, which modules/plugins to install in addition.

Correct: you won't find templates in the Joomla! Extensions Directory or elsewhere on this website. Use Google.

Use Google or third party website like Joomshaper to find Joomla templates.

At one point there was to be a template directory like the JED (URL was active last time I checked, https://templates.joomla.org but was "under construction"; the URL seems non existent now)

However, if you search the web e.g. Phoca Joomla Template directory you will find a directory of templates, presented in a way not dissimilar to the extensions directory.

These are not just *Phoca* templates but a wide variety - as well as general site templates there also extension-specific templates.

At least it's a start.

ha ha, yes Google rules.
However, it is difficult to realise whether it is a good company/template or not until you actually buy it. According to reviews sometimes you buy templates that do not work like it is announced in the demo or there are other bugs.

I've already found one developer and willing to buy their template. I've checked extensions on joomla.org and this company has a very high rate for one of their extensions called 'SP Page Builder'. I've checked their forum and it seems to be live.
Hope they will not cheat and their template is worth buying.

Too short, out of date, uninformative and inappropriate. Many of those developers went out of business a decade ago.

We are not permitted—none of us is permitted—to promote or advertise templates on this forum. We may be able to mention one or two names but, to be on the safe side, use Google.

viewforum.php?f=46 on occasion has some templates posted but overall, Google (sorry.....DuckDuckGo) is your friend

@Yullia_2000 - DuckDuck Go doesn't track you (unlike Google). Don't ask me where the name of the SE came from!

This question is very important for Joomla and we need a template directory to show case Joomla for the world and get the template makers show their templates in Joomla.org similar like wix doing so well now https://sv.wix.com/website/templates
