Security Implications with the use of iframes

Post by murphman » Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:22 pm

Looking for some clarification and advice on incorporating my Vimeo hosted videos into my Joomla site. I've researched a handful of professionally developed plugins on the JED but they all seem to utilize iFrames for the video embeds. I've always been advised in the past against the use of iframes for security reasons. Any expert clarification/advice is appreciated.

The reason they use iframes is because that is what the parties like YT and Vimeo offer to developers.

Showing something in an iframe is ok as long as you trust the content in that iframe to be safe.
