Fabrik warning: JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder
Hello, I'm using Fabrik with Joomla 3.8.12 on this page for example: https://horatiuradulescu.com/recordings
This is the configuration of one of the image fields, I have configured both image fields with the same info. I have tried both with and without the ending / in the folder path. This doesn't change my problem.
When loading the form to edit or create a new item, the warning appears Note that there is an extra images/ folder at the end of the folder path, that folder does not exist and is not mentioned anywhere in my configuration. Also the list of images is empty, of course.
Is anyone able to help me with this problem? I did find a workaround to get the list of images by clicking on the Home link below the drop-down, but the user who is doing all the creation and editing work from the front end finds the warning confusing and he is afraid of continuing to work on this list.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your support, cheers, Joanie

It may be that /images is a default path in the plugin so instead of placing /images/recordings in the field labeled image, just use recordings

Re: Fabrik warning: JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder
Create a new folder called "images" in 'images/recordings" . The app expect an 'image' folder to be present in this path and cannot find it. See if that resolves if you create the folder so this is present "images/recordings/images"

Re: Fabrik warning: JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder
Thanks @annahersh
That's not it, I tried but it didn't work.
I forgot to add an information, I'm using the same path for another Fabrik form, in the same installation and it works with the other form. I find this very weird that it would work for one form but not for another.
Any other idea?

Hi Leo,
Thanks. But I forgot to add an information, I'm using the same path for another Fabrik form, in the same installation and it works just fine with the other form. I find this very weird that it would work for one form but not for another.
Any other idea?

Re: Fabrik warning: JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder
Hello Webdongle,
it's the same website that you said there was nothing wrong with last Friday, this issue with Fabrik was already there before I ran the FPA. Is there a need to run it again for the same result? Just checking.
Thanks, Joanie
PS: I can't edit my first post, I'd like to add an information, I'm using the same path for another Fabrik form, in the same installation and it works with the other form. I find this very weird that it would work for one form but not for another. Any idea?

Re: Fabrik warning: JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder
No need to run it again. So both Fabrik extensions use the same folder. One creates it on install but the second fails to create it because it always exists?

Re: Fabrik warning: JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder
It's 2 different forms/lists created in the same Fabrik extension installation.
And my apologies, the user working on it reminded me that Form 1 uses a fileupload (pdf) that goes in folder images/music and Form 2 uses a list of images that we placed in images/recordings.
He never had a problem uploading PDFs in the images/music folder in form 1. But the warning appears in Form 2, even before he tries to select the drop-down list to access images that are already in the images/recordings folder.
Both fields paths are configured the same: images/music/ for one and images/recordings/ for the other. So why would the file upload path work and not the images list? I'm confused.
I think this time I've mentioned everything. Sorry for the partial info in the first post, I was so sure the upload file was an image file that was set up in the exact same folder for From 1 and 2.
Also, I've tried changing the path to
images/recordings/
/images/recordings/
recordings/
images/
all with and without ending /, to no avail.
I have explored Fabrik's Options but couldn't find a default folder where images should be.
With this update, and I verified everything this time, do you have any idea what's giving me the warning and how to fix it?
Thanks a lot for your support and patience. Joanie

Is there any uppercase letters in the folder name?

No, I wanted to check here first.
No
And no.
So you just suggest I post this on Fabrik's forum now?
Guess if nobody knows about this issue here, it's time to do so.

Re: Fabrik warning: JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder
It does appear to be a Fabrik issue that nobody here has come across. Your server was set up correctly (although you did have livesite var defined). One of Fabrik's extension can write to a folder the other can't. Perhaps it is something in their coding?

Thanks a lot, I'll do that and post the solution here when I know how to fix it.

The folder in question is indeed missing https://horatiuradulescu.com/images/recordings/images/.
Either create it or point Fabrik to an existing folder.

Apparently I can't post on Fabrik's forum, they don't take new forum subscriptions
I searched it but couldn't find my solution.

The folder https://horatiuradulescu.com/images/recordings/ exists, we're using images in this folder in different places, so we don't want to create a sub-folder there. I don't see the need to have a sub-folder either. It should work.SharkyKZ wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 7:21 amThe folder in question is indeed missing https://horatiuradulescu.com/images/recordings/images/.
