auto login on phone

Hi there,

We are building an extension that shows information to a limited user group. This means they have to log in to see it. This info (this includes a list of emergency phone numbers that can be called during a work shift) should be available 24/7 for one week (the duration of their shift).

It would be convenient for the users if they do not have to log in with username and password every time they want to access the info. I could extend session duration to 24x7x60=10080 minutes, but that could also cause security issues.
So I am looking for a way to log in automatically from their phones or a way to identify the user by the phone they are using (e.g. their mac address, the IMEI number or something like that) to replace the log in procedure.

Does anyone know of an extension that can do that? Or perhaps a better way to auto login from a phone?

Hey Webdongle,
Sounds great if you can get your website to do that even without an extension. Can you tell me how you do it? Because it is not a standard feature of Joomla, as far as I know.

Activate the System - Remember Me plugin. Then your users can check the box when they log in. It's that simple.
