Different home pages for different view groups

Post by ExecutorH » Wed Jul 28, 2021 2:38 am

Dear Joomlers!

Is there any module or way to have different home pages for each view groups? for example: I have around 30 view groups for my company: Support staff (which includes groups: tech support, networking, asterisk specialists) administratives (accounters, HHRR, etc) management, etc, so I want each group to have redirected to their own home page (category blog) as soon as they log in. For example: if a support staff logs in, their home page will be Support Main Category --> Support home page subcategory.

Thanks!

there's one called https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... tem-nomad/
That you can specify a separate home page per user, per permission level or user group.

You may need the pro version (minimal cost) to do 30 since the free one is limited in its features (but will give you an idea what it can do).

Yes, this plugin does very near what I want, but I have 2 concerns: You can only redirect user groups (which is not much problem) and it's more 3 years since the last plugin update, and that's scares me a bit.

I will give it an opportunity because the price is very reasonable.

Thank you!

You can do it without any extension.

Make a Category Blog Menu Item type that points to the Parent Category.

With different View Level on the Categories, the articles that are shown will vary dependant of the user logged in.

I don't know if this is what the user wanted - a home page for separate logged in users. Joomla generally has *one* home page. The extension I mentioned, turns the "home" link into a custom home page depending on the type of user or user group they are in.

The Home page will still be whatever has been marked as Home with the 'gold star'.
