modals not appearing anymore Topic is solved

Hi. I have a few modals on my site, and have noticed that many of them are not displaying anymore.

I have one on the front page: https://www.southark.edu. At the very bottom, clicking on "Administrator/Editors" should bring a login modal up.

And on the page: https://www.southark.edu/about/campus/campus-maps, clicking on the buildings on the top map should bring their respective modals up. These are hard-coded into the page.

What other information may I provide?

Do the links work (without the modal). When I hover over the mouse on those links you indicated, I don't see any link that would lead to the maps pages or to the login page, regardless if it has a modal window or not.

See if you can redo them and then try again.

An alternative would be trying Media Box (JCE Editor). It's an add-on plugin for JCE, but allows a modal window to be created (simply through a CSS class added to the hyperlink), for any type of web content - web page, article, images, video etc

Perhaps review the code you originally used, or check the place you obtained it for any update?

If we're discussing the effects of hovering a mouse on the "imagemap" (except it isn't an imagemap) at the top of the page, they don't look like modals to me. They look like mouse-hover "tooltips" to me. They render fine for me using Firefox.

UPDATE: Scratch that. Yes, you're right. The modal effect is not working. There's a data-toggle="modal" that should fire a data-target="#basicModal-xxxx" (where xxxx contains an image and text) but the target isn't displayed. Interesting CSS: requires further investigation (not something I've played with, sorry).

Hi. I have a few modals on my site, and have noticed that many of them are not displaying anymore.

The first thing you need to do is to delete all these templates based on Helix and especially their plugins (deleted separately). They are not compatible with each other on one site and cause conflicts between management backend plugins (Helix 3 plugin, Helix Ultimate 1.1.4 plugin, Helix Ultimate 2.0.5 plugin). Perhaps Gantry should also be deleted, since two different frameworks on one site are excessively and can also cause conflicts.

Fix for modals:
Administrator/Editors works, just simultaneously with the opening of the modal, an anchor link is triggered (href = "#"). To eliminate, in the script that opens this modal should contain abolition of the default behavior (preventDefault method). This is absent. Contact the developer for fix. Or use bootstrap modal instead.

On the "Buildings map" page, the modals from Bootstrap is used. It contains "data-toggle" and "data-target " data attributes. These attributes work before Bootstrap 5. Helix Ultimate 2.0.5 used bootstrap 5. Starting with this BS version, the data attributes for all interactive components changed from "data-toggle" to "data-bs-toggle", from "data-target" to "data-bs-target" and ect. You just need to bring it all in line with Bootstrap 5 documentation https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.0/components/modal/

If most of your extensions are not ready to bootstrap 5 and you need to correct too much, then remove Helix Ultimate 2.0.5 and return to Helix Ultimate 1.1.4 (hope you have backup)
