Site Crash / Language error on when logged in AFTER upgrade to 3.10.9 Topic is solved

Performed Joomla updated to 3.10.9 yesterday

Started to get reports that when a user logs in the site crashes

I get the warning box saying "0 - Call to a member function modify() on bool"

The only way I can get the site back up in the browser is go into the administration and manually log the user out.

The install is EN-GB with EN-AU installed as well. The default is EN-GB.

the site is running a Virtuemart shop that has been working perfectly until the update.

Any advice how I can determine the fault would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the warning comes from a third party extension. Does the website work if you turn off error reporting altogether by changing 'Error Reporting' in Global Configuration to 'None'?

Otherwise, change the level of error reporting to 'Maximum' and enable the Debug option. Enable the plugin System - Debug, go to the Logging tab and select 'Log Almost Everything'. The log file containing the error messages, including the stack trace, can then be downloaded from administrator/logs/everything.php. Post the relevant messages identifying the root cause here for advice.

I actually was able to narrow it down to a shipping module after about 3 hrs of stuffing around....

I have gone back to the module developer with all the errors and logs so hopefully they will get it sorted

I have temporarily unpublished the shipping option and the site is back up and running.
