My Weblinks are giving an error "0 - Attempt to modify property "params" on null".
I read an article which seems to indicate that Weblinks are not compatible with PHP 8. I'm running Joomla 3.10.8 and PHP8.0.13.
If that is correct does anyone know what to do about this behavior?

Weblinks are reported as version 3.9.0.
Weblinks version 4.0.1 on J4 works on php 8.1.
Weblinks version 4.0.1 on J4 works on php 8.1.

Update: Turned on debug. It turned out that the error occurred in the JCE Editor (version 2.9.14)
Installed the latest 2.9.22 of the JCE Editor fixed it. This is on a test site that is not in regular use.
The J4 site had JCE updated.

As a test, I reverted my PHP version from 8.0.13 back to version 7.4.26, Guess what? My weblinks work perfectly. As I stated earlier, I am using Joomla 3.10.8.
I even tried PHP version *.1.2 and the same (original) problem comes back.

The version you need is 3.9.0 for Joomla 3.x. I would assume it would run on Joomla's recommended system requirements e.g. PHP 8.0.x which you are running.

I haven't used Weblinks for years. As a test, I installed Weblinks 3.9.0 on a J! 3.10.8 website running PHP 8.0.9: it installed fine, I created a test link and published the module and it worked.
For information, Weblinks 4.1.0 is available for installation from the Install from Web option. See the attached screenshot. I uninstalled v3.9.0 and replaced it with v4.1.0 and repeated my quick test and it worked.
I cannot get any J! 3.x website to work (with or without Weblinks) with PHP 8.1 under Wampserver ... but that's the least of my concerns.

Previously working category lists of weblinks began to throw an error. This is across 2 unrelated sites that were recently updated, although it was some time before the problem was noticed.
I've read a few threads here about weblinks not working and concluded that this problem was the combination of PHP8.x, Joomla 3.10.? and Weblinks 3.9.0.
I understand that 3.9.0 this is the latest version of weblinks that is compatible with J3
I reverted to PHP7.4 and it worked again. (PHP8.0 crashed the site)
Has anyone found a better solution than using an unsupported version of software? Migration to J4 at this time is not feasible. Getting rid of weblinks would be tedious and error prone.
