Could not resolve host: cdn.richeyweb.com
A site that is in the process of being updated to J5, now displays "Could not resolve host: cdn.richeyweb.com" on both https://mardles.org/ and the administration page (before the login page is shown). The site uses an EU cookie message extension from richeyweb.com - which seems to have disappeared. I have FTP access to the site, is there any way that I can disable the extension please?

You can rename the folder where the plugin is stored, even though it would be tidier to disable the plugin in the database. Edit the database table _extensions, locate the row containing the plugin details and change the column 'enabled' from 1 to 0. Then you can uninstall the incompatible plugin.

We have the same problem. I renamed the com_privacy Folder, which did not solve the problem. In the plugin Folders I can not find this EU-Privacy as a plugin.
Thank you very much for some help,
Petra

Re: Could not resolve host: cdn.richeyweb.com
It is not the same problem because Michael Richie's EU e-Privacy Directive comes with a module and a plugin, not a component.

Re: Could not resolve host: cdn.richeyweb.com
Thank you. Changing the rows (associated with the package) in _extensions did not enable me to login but renaming the mod_eu privacy folder in modules has worked and I have now been able to uninstall the package.

Re: Could not resolve host: cdn.richeyweb.com
okay, so then for me it could be another plugin/module/component from Richeyweb. Is there any way to find out, which of him were installed? As our IT-manager left without giving me any documentation, I am really lost with this problem. I too cannot get access to the database, as there are no passwords available.
I work with joomla since a few years, but I never had to dive deep into ftp and databases. Thank you very much

Petra - I think that you renamed the wrong folder - see my reply above for the correct folder.
