SHow modules based on selected location

Post by cconnolly12 » Tue Jan 29, 2013 5:44 pm

How do I show and hide modules based on Location Selection in joomla?

Does anyone know of an extension for this, or do I have to make duplicate pages/categories and access levels?

I need it to function the same was as www.crossroads.com (top link, change to European version)

Any direction is much appreciated. Thanks

hey there - this is possible ...

check out Metamod Pro ... looks perfect (alternate to Advanced Module Manager by NoNumber):

http://www.metamodpro.com/

let me know how it goes ... would like to hear the feedback.

Thanks, Max. I was wondering if I can change module based on clicking a link, such as US or EURO. Similar to http://www.crossroads.com. I'm looking through Metamod documentation and cant find anything.

Sorry - I thought you meant geo-location.

Of course you can change things based on a user selection ... generally, I'd use the NoNumber extensions with some PHP to achieve something like this if it's just modules, multi-language across different countries and/or sub-domains/multi-store for eCommerce ... depends on what you are trying to achieve.

I don't really have any idea of the crossroads functionality - but nothing appears to change when the locale is clicked on.

Hi Max, The only things that change are the email address and what content is available for download. I was hoping to achieve this without duplicating any content, for SEO reasons. I also, don't want users to have to log-in, in order to be classified US or non-US.

Thanks Max, I was able to use the Metamod. It took some thinking but once I altered the Joomla Languages, it worked. Thanks for your help.
