I need to display articles as events in a calendar Topic is solved

I'm looking for a recommendation for a simple mini calendar module that will let me display articles on my site as events on the calendar. I need to be able to choose on what date the calendar displays the article independently of the article's actual creation or publishing date.

Basically it should work like the calendar on this site:

www.finno.no

I'm currently migrating this site from 1.5 to the latest version and I have to replace the calendar module because it has not been updated for Joomla 3. Infact the developer's website (joomlaseller.com) is no longer functioning.

If anyone knows a good module that has the functions I need or knows where I can get a Joomla 3 compatible version of .JS Calendar I would be very grateful.

Alternatively, does anyone know how I could make .JS Calendar compatible with Joomla 3?

I appreciate any help you guys can provide.

I looked into JEvents earlier but when I went to look at the demo I tried to hover my mouse over the mini calendar module on the days with events but there was no popup to show links to the events of the day. The demo didn't let me look at the back end either so could you possibly tell me if that function exists in JEvents and can be turned on from the options?

This function is crucial to the operation of the website.

I have been testing JEvents and I found out that the event list tool tip for the calendar module is only available to those who are silver members of their club. Also I haven't been able to create events out of my joomla articles. I created a new event in the component but there was no way to link it to an article. How does it work?

You have to create Events and not Articles. There is an editor in JEvents where you can paste in the text. No component mix with articles.

I'm afraid that won't work for me. I need to use articles as the events.

Does anyone know of any other calendars that could have what I need?

I have the similar requirement as jonmar: a calendar module for Joomla content based on custom Joomla date fields.

I've installed VJ Tools Calendar. It allows you to create calendars based on Joomla Content and K2 content items. So far so good.
