Akeeba backup update caused Error FOF 3.0 is not installed

Postby pintobuck » Tue Aug 08, 2017 3:26 pm

Using Joomla 3.7.4

Auto updated Akeeba backup. Then when I used Joomla Admininistration, I would get this error message:
Error displaying the page: Call to a member function addScriptDeclaration() on null: FOF 3.0 is not installed

A Google search suggested the need to clear PHP op-code caching from the server. Info found here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/ad ... alled.html

I do not know if that works, yet. I just notified my website hosting service.

That post by Akeeba Backup is about earlier versions of both their products and Joomla.

Akeeba Backup issued the following announcement two days ago and updated it yesterday with details of the likely cause and suggestions how to fix the issue:

Thank you for the update. That link was very informative.

In my particular case, the problem went away by itself, sometime between the Akeeba update and when I checked back a couple of hours later.
