As stated by CIWebMarketing this should be very carefully considered. After dealing with them personally I cannot suggest steering clear of them enough.

eDocman is probably the best based on the fact that I use 4 of their other extensions and they are a good company to work with. I will be buying eDocman soon for a client. My experience with the one you are asking about was terrible. It also crippled my sites, probably some resource hogging issues. Not to mention bloated and overly expensive.

Yes my complaint with JoomlaTools was being charged $300 on my credit card for a developer license I did not need for the 1 site I was using Docman on, despite closing my account and advising I was no longer using the program. Plus as you can see it's not on the JED. I wonder why? Trust me when I say Docman is a nightmare. I posted reviews about them and they came after me. They ended up refunding every penny, or at least most of the 3 years I waited for their promises to come true. I lost a client due to their lies as well. The extension made my site so slow I had to remove it completely and start writing reviews about it.

So unless they have completely changed their ways I cannot say a single good thing about them or their products. Just be warned if you think it's worth trying, it's not.

eDocman works perfectly for our needs
I asked for a feature we were missing and they added it in the next version one week later
