Can't do backup in Akeeba Backup

Post by ronniewong329 » Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:06 am

When I try to do the usual backup, the following error message appears:

Akeeba Backup can not take a backup of your site because the output directory is not writable. Please follow the instructions below to fix this issue.

In order to fix this issue, please go to the Configuration Page and set the Output Directory to [DEFAULT_OUTPUT] (all caps, including the brackets). If this still doesn't work, please take a look at our troubleshooting instructions

Hello ronniewong329, you need to adjust and set output directory for your akeeba abckup. In other words to set where backup files should be stored.

Go to Akeeba backup interface, click on configuration as in screenshot bellow:
https://prnt.sc/mlei7l

Then adjust directory url in settings:
https://prnt.sc/mlejxk

Url for output directory should be set to something like this for example: /home_directory_name/public_html_folder/where_you_want_your_backups_to_be_stored
or any directory you want to use.

Or use Akeeba Admin tools, it has a function to correct file/folder permissions.
