obGrabber / foobla gone out of business?

Post by ggossamer » Sat Apr 06, 2019 6:19 pm

Anyone know what happened to foobla, the obgrabber people? Their website has been down for at least a week and they aren't responding to support inquiries.

According to the JED, obGrabber has been de-listed. I guess the developer is not offering the product anymore.

Oh that's bad news. Any idea if there's an equivalent product available somewhere?

Is there anyone else using obgrabber? It was not easy to configure or use, but it seemed to really help us in a unique way.

I just expected it was a technical glitch but here we are and Foobla is still down. No recent posts anywhere, not even social media. Thong Tran had been at it for over a decade and obExtensions were widely used, seems very unlike him to just let things lapse with no words spoken at all. This is very sad, I hope he is alive and well and I hope alternatives to obRSS appear on the scene.

Hi andiamine, did you buy right author of those products. And you will develop from the current code of them? Or your components are complete new?

we don't have to buy right author, is open source and under GPL licence, we will develop on top of current code, but with a new version, improvements, new admin dashboard, and some new features.

currently we have only some old versions, a client give it to us to fork it, currently this 2 extensions has a lot of problems and bugs, possible we will cancel developing this 2 products.

I have seen you have added Joomgrabber to Joomla Extensions repository... https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... omgrabber/

So, you are not going to cancel it?
