Ordering Weblinks categories

Hi
I can't find any option that allows me to order and present link categories, as per Weblinks component, in alphabetical order for example.
Any ideas on how to do this (or where from rather)?
Cheers

I have found displaying weblinks within the weblinks module gives you more option and has an "ordering" option that includes the choices of Title, Ordering, or Hits.

Hi Mary,
thanks for this,....still I'd like to show the links through a menu entry not as a stand alone module.
There must be a way...

I understand, I needed to learn how to write some overrides for one of my sites that uses weblinks extensively. I think is that may be what you are up against with this.

I've been looking into applying overrides and editing the weblink component because I want to order links by title. If you want to play with PHP that's a fine way to go. If you want to simply get the job done and move on, you could try installing the "All Weblinks" plugin by SJL Creations. It uses the data from the Weblinks admin pages but displays then in any number of ways in many orders.

ps. I'm nothing to do with SJL, just impressed at how useful the plugin was.

You can re-order them with drag-and-drop in the Administrator.

Yes I can order the categories inside the admin panel, but they don't show up ordered by name in the front end.

Thanks but, will it be safe to use? It was last updated in 2007....

Ok I just saw a newer version dated 2015, here: http://forge.joomla.org/gf/project/allw ... e_id=19986 but again it seems that they don't maintain it any longer.

Order the Weblinks with Drag&drop do work.

https://docs.joomla.org/Changing_the_or ... _in_a_menu

This shows for Menu Items, but the procedure is the same for weblinks.
