Hi. My first post on this forum.
I am using Widgetkit Grid Stack to display images, and want to create links to display images from the same folder as a slideshow ‘in front’ (lightbox concept?). Seems like I’ve chosen a tricky path for what I thought would be a straightforward goal. I also want to use the whole image as a link – not just the text (i.e. read more). I would really appreciate any help … I’m more stuck than Sticky the stick insect. Cheers, Kevin.

Re: Widgetkit - link from Grid Stack to Slideshow
Hi Paula. Thanks very much for your interest.
There are a few issues I'd like to improve on. Been out of action for a while and want to get up and running again.
I really like the presentation of the Widgetkit Grid Stack format and would like to be able to keep it.
link: http://www.notbroken.com.au/2d-art/2d-human.html
1 - I would like to have the whole image be a link (not just the text or a specific link)
2 - I'd like the link to open 'in front' as in a lightshow (not take over the current tab or open in a new tab)
3 - and for the viewer to be able to navigate forward and back through the images in that group or slideshow (preferably by selecting LHS or RHS of the image rather than a small link.
Think I may be aiming a bit above my expertise but (hopefully) we all hope to achieve what we can imagine.
Thanks again.
Cheers, Kevin

Hmm ok, I don't think that sounds too much to aim for. Apart from the lightbox integration which is well documented regarding integration into Joomla, the rest is just mods to the html source that the extension creates. Take a look at the views that the extension provides in its source and in there you will find the files which act as the basis for the page to be built. Remember to override and extend otherwise any changes you make will be lost.
My advice to people in these situations is to make a backup of your site and spin it up on a local server then get in and tinker. If you break it beyond repair then grab another backup and start again. Its the best way to learn.

Also it looks like Lightbox is already a part of the widgetkit lineup so there may be shortcuts there

Re: Widgetkit - link from Grid Stack to Slideshow
Thanks very much for your reply ... my apologies for my delayed response ... out of action for a while.
I've decided on a different design approach. I'm using a widgetkit grid in the primary pages to link to secondary articles. At this point I've still got the problem of being unable to use the image as the link rather than the title even though the the grid sample and documentation clearly indicates that's part of the settings.
I'm positive I've set it up correctly (& tried many options) but stuck again. I'd really appreciate any more assistance.
