Thanks for the FPA, appreciated but you haven't explained what the actual problem is (not in terribly great detail).

from this:
Problem Description :: wrote:
option=com_installer&view=install ask for a password

I will take a wild guess. Do you have the FTP Layer option turned on? That may cause a prompt for password, not sure. But to test this theory, take a look at the global config options and turn off anything related to "FTP" options.

I note also you're WAY behind in updates! 3.4.8 vs 3.9.10

Also those elevated permissions (777) should be 755.

[further to earlier answer]: FTP Layer: false so that suggest FTP is off, as it should be.

I am thinking now, the reason for prompt for password could be because your Super user/Admin user is not sufficient for installing extensions. When you say 'prompt for password' do you mean you're actually kicked out of the Admin entirely , or is it some other prompt? A screen-shot of the problem would be useful.

@AMurry
fyi the fpa reports "FTP Layer: false"

@fleurdelysee
Folders should be 755
Files should be 644 (configuration.php should be 444)
Fix that then make a backup and update.

Thanks to be so reactive.

Last week I made a backup then an tried an update from 3.4.8 to 3.6.5 whitch dosn't work. It is why I choose to migrate to a new environment dev. 3.9.10 using Akeeba backup

I’m trying to install Akeeba backup 6.4.0 with the Installer extension of Joomla. I am preparing this old site to be migrated to a new one, on witch Akeeba 6.6.0 has been installed.
Capture d’écran 2019-07-23 à 07.38.52.png
It works during the upload and stop before beginning the installation
Capture d’écran 2019-07-23 à 07.40.41.png
after the click on password return to installation page

Then the problem should be permission 777 on some Membership Pro and Moodle files.

I'll get back to you.

Thanks a lot!

You can not migrate an old version of Joomla to the latest version by using Akeeba. Akeeba packages your site so that it can be copied to somewhere else. You need to work our why your site did not update. Please explain what the error was.

OK let's go back to last week.

I am preparing an update to upgrade from Joomla 3.4.8 to 3.6.5 (suggested) and also from PHP 5.6.39 to 7.2. I need to upgrade to the minimum version 3.7 to have the option of membership cards with Membership Pro.

- 1st problem not solved.
In January 2016, after installing version 3.4.8, the https://fhdq.org/administrator/index.ph ... com_config control panel appears unformatted. There is no message in the log. I always got used to the configuration.php file

To fix this problem, the only article I found on the forum is https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/6175 (Add a class_exists check to PDO MySQL driver # 6175). The suggested correction in libraries / joomla / database / driver / pdomysql.php was already in place in my version 3.4.8.

- 2nd problem not solved.
When upgrading from Joomla 3.4.8 to version 3.6.5 I receive this error message:

/** * @package Joomla.Site * * @copyright Copyright (C) 2005 - 2015 Open Source Matters, Inc. All rights reserved. * @license GNU General Public License version 2 or later; see LICENSE.txt */ /** * Define the application's minimum supported PHP version as a constant so it can be referenced within the application. */ define('JOOMLA_MINIMUM_PHP', '5.3.10'); if (version_compare(PHP_VERSION, JOOMLA_MINIMUM_PHP, '<')) { die('Your host needs to use PHP ' . JOOMLA_MINIMUM_PHP . ' or higher to run this version of Joomla!'); } /** * Constant that is checked in included files to prevent direct access. * define() is used in the installation folder rather than "const" to not error for PHP 5.2 and lower */ define('_JEXEC', 1); if (file_exists(__DIR__ . '/defines.php')) { include_once __DIR__ . '/defines.php'; } if (!defined('_JDEFINES')) { define('JPATH_BASE', __DIR__); require_once JPATH_BASE . '/includes/defines.php'; } require_once JPATH_BASE . '/includes/framework.php'; // Mark afterLoad in the profiler. JDEBUG ? $_PROFILER->mark('afterLoad') : null; // Instantiate the application. $app = JFactory::getApplication('site'); // Execute the application. $app->execute();
ERROR:
AJAX Loading Error: Forbidden

If you could help us out, that would be wonderful.
Thank you

OK you have broke your site and need to rebuild the files. This is best done on wamp localhost.
The database is your site. The files just put/get data to/from your database and display it in the browser.

This method will:
a. Update your database using fresh Joomla files
b. Create fresh 3rd party files.
c. It will also eliminate any hacks that may have compromised the site because of your 777 folders.

1. export/import your database to a database in Wamp
2. In wamp's \www folder create a new folder and install a fresh Joomla 3.4.8 (set wamp to use php 5.x)
3. Connect the configuration.php of the fresh Joomla to the database that has your site data.
(you can now use the fresh files to update the database that has your site data. At some stage you will need to set Wamp's php to 7.x)

Next

4. In wamp's \www folder create another new folder and install a fresh Joomla of the latest version. (keep wamp's php 7.x)
5. Download and install the latest 3rd party extensions into the fresh Joomla of the latest version.
(you now have the latest version of Joomla and your 3rd party files)
6. Connect the configuration.php of fresh Joomla of the latest version to the updated database that has your site data.

You now have your site back. You may need to uninstall incompatible 3rd party extensions.

I really appreciate your instructions, it's clear and relevant.

Just a little thing, I do not find how to integrate my custom css under Joomla 3.9.10. I put it in template/css/customcss.css, but how to declare it in index.php or otherwise?

Thanks again!

According to the screenshots and information you have posted in this topic, I visited your website. The site template is Protostar.

Because the site template is Protostar, here are the instructions you need to create a "custom" CSS file: https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Adding_a_c ... _Protostar

These instructions apply to Joomla websites after J! 3.5. If your website is now at J! 3.9.10 then follow the instructions and everything will work. 8)
