idea how to import/display excel datasheet and filter per user basis

Post by abel2b » Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:45 pm

Hi,
I greatly apreciate someone can point me in the direction I should go about, to implement this project...

have a report I download from another service in excel datasheet format, which has important monthly stats for my joomla site clients/user looks something like this..

Date|User1|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User1|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User2|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User2|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User3|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User3|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User1|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User1|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User4|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...
Date|User5|item1|item2|stat1|Stat2|...

I need to somehow upload this datasheet to joomla and ONLY! display data relevant to each user in his private profile with charts and ability for user to search by date, items, etc.. and the ability of the user to download this data in excel or pdf format ...

If not posible at the very least I would like to upload individual user datasheet, which I would have to create manually, and have individual user download and view offline, something like a personal file inbox admin can deposit these files or maybe a private briefcase ...

I have been looking around and trying different components eg. JDownload, phoca downloads, OS download, but have not been able to get around display relevant file on a per user basis, all these implement on a user group basis...

Personally I would create a custom component from scratch that imports the Excel Sheet and converts the data to MySQL database table. And the front-end of the component will show custom data to the registered users (so that they will see their own data).

If you don't have experience with programming components, then you could consider other options like:
* Fabrik to create a web application and import the Excel sheet into it.
* a commercial software-as-a-service like component-creator.com to generate a component and import the Excel sheet.

Thank you for your time, I have limited programming experience, research and implementing a custom component would take a long time for me. I´ve managed to get J!extranet to upload files in private folder and set permisions, I do have fabrik installed that I use for forms, basic tables, I will look into importing excel sheet...
