Load content into an external PHP file

Post by smalldragoon » Sun Mar 22, 2020 4:37 pm

hi, my question could sound weird, but I woul dneed to trigger a joomla pluging ( modals ) , which can be used only through content.
With this, I'm using another joomla extension ( Fabrik - form& application creation ) , which can execute some PHP to validate thee submission of the form.
So, here is the why of my question : how can I load content into an external php file
any insights or tricks ?

Thanks !

Why an external file and not a Joomla Component?

You have to do all the work from scratch.

1) Load with Ajax. Joomla have com_ajax for this purpose. Return a JSON structure.

2) Fetch directly from the database (#__content table).

3) Use the Joomla Framework (api.joomla.org)

because it is another website ( and not joomla of course )
I t from what you are saying, maybe it will be quicker for me to run a remote SQL query on the DB to grab the article content and rework it...
I still have my other issue inside the joomla website but this is in that case related to Fabrik
thanks a lot !

If the db is available from remote.

Option 1 or an RSS feed should also be doable

will do the db option ... the final output will not be as nice as it is in Joomla, but quickest and easiest for me
Thx again :D
