Moving site from Apache to IIS server

Post by rudys » Sat Aug 05, 2017 8:03 pm

I need to move my site from Apache to an IIS server. What is the best practice, things to consider etc for this to happen smoothly? Can it be done with Akeeba backup?

Mod. Note: Relocating the topic to the Installation on IIS Web Server Forum.

The main difference is that IIS does not use a .htaccess file, but a web.config. A template is provided as webconfig.txt.

Your best option is to use akeeba backup + kickstart to move.
