Users with role "Manager" can't edit or create posts

Hey guys,

I'm working on a Joomla website and everything works out. The website looks and feels great, everything works as expected.
One thing gives me a huge headache though...

I've created users and assigned them to the role "Manager". I then checked that the role has all the necessary permissions to create, edit and update posts from the backend.
When I login with one of those users however, I can see all the posts of the website. As soon, as I try to edit a post, I see the editor, but the buttons are missing and all the content around the editor isn't being displayed.
Meaning the backend menu, the save button etc.. In the title bar it just says "403 - no permission".
I really don't get it, all necessary permissions are set and everything should work smoothly.

Did any of you have a similar situation and can help me out here?

I checked the permissions of all the editors - tried different options for default editor.
No changes..

the permissions for articles are as shown in the screenshot...

The Configure Options is set Allowed ... not Allowed inherited. That suggests you have edited that Permission. If you have altered that Permission then chances are that you have altered other settings somewhere.

Is the error front end or in admin ?
