Two factor auth

Post by claven123 » Thu May 18, 2017 5:45 pm

I've been looking into 2FA.

When set up is this only for the admin log in or all log in's.

Is this for the initial registration or random log ins.

I can't seem to find info on this, I see lots of info on the concept and how to set it up.

Users won't want to do this every time they log into the site.

It can be for anyone you specify - users and/or administrators. And it can be set to work on the front end, the back end, or both.

If you want to use 2FA you first create your account. Then you can add the 2FA to that account. Once 2FA is enabled for a user account it is "on" all the time until an administrator disables it.

I have set the admin back end to have a password to get access. Would I also need 2FA for that area?

I want to limit who signs up for the site, ie registers what is the best way to do this. I had used a catch phrase and it seems that didn't work on my old site.
