Set tag access only to some users

Post by artax » Mon Feb 10, 2020 5:56 pm

Good evening everybody,
when creating tags we can set the "Access" to different user groups. The way I see it, that would mean that other user groups "below" shouldn't be able to see that tag, nor to select it through forms. Is that correct?

That's precisely what I'd need: some users shouldn't have access to some tags when filling a form.
I did try, but any user can still see and select the tags I gave access only to super users.

Would anybody help me to clarify what's the use of changing the access of tags to different user groups?

Is there any way I can achieve my goal?

Thank you in advance

How are you 'changing the access of tags to different user groups'?

Thanks for your reply.
When creating the tag, like you can see in the attachment.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

So you are saying that
Articles view level group A and tags view level B
User Group X set to see level A
User Group Y set to see levels A and B
That Group X should see the Article but not the Tag ... but is actually seeing both?

Well, I'd just need some users not to see and select some tags from forms. Again, what's the use of setting the access for a tag to, say, super users, if any user has access to that tag anyway?

Just don't login front end
Also create a couple of users and log them in front end different browsers.

thank you but my question is: if I set the access to a tag to a given group, what is that supposed to happen?
Tags I set access to "super users" are still shown throughout the site to everybody, so I must be missing something.

Oh I thought you needed users to check what was seen

Make sure you test with Ptotostar because some custom Templates my not honour all the settings.
