Checklist for front-end editing issues

Post by JohnSmithers » Mon Mar 02, 2020 8:08 pm

My superuser account can view the edit icon and can edit on the front end. However no other user category can at present.

Is there a useful checklist to consider to troubleshoot this?

...finding my own answers. It appears I have a "K2" component which has to be set for front-end editing, as I'm sure most of you know :-)

Still, a checklist here might be useful...?

I don't know about a checklist, but there are three user groups that are primarily involved with and should have access to create, edit and publish content......Author, Editor, and Publisher should by default have the permissions create/edit the content.

So the first thing to look at is the user permissions, and what user groups they are in. Second thing is to check what the user group permissions are set to.

I don't know if this is what you would call a 'checklist' but it's a place to start: https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Access_Con ... t_Tutorial
