Tricky access issue-

Post by Amongthegums » Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:20 am

I have a situation where a group, Members, have access to restricted content.

However, I need to give a couple of other users access to selected restricted Members content, without giving them access to all of the Members restricted content.

I'm looking for ideas or solutions, if anyone can help.

Thanks

Are those articles in a separate category or not?

Create two Access Levels. One with the Members and one with Members+the other users.

  1. Create the user group with Registered as Parent
  2. Select that group in the relative Access Level(s)
  3. Edit Permissions individually
  • Create the new user group with Registered as Parent
  • Do NOT alter global Permissions (unless you want them to have admin access in which case Allow admin login)
  • In Users >>> Access Levels ... select the user group in the Access level(s) you want them to see.('Special' is the level Admin menu module is set)
  • In Admin >>> relevant Components (Categories) ... allow access to the Admin interlace for Components and set the Permissions that you want users of that group to manipulate (create, edit etc.)
With Categories set the Permissions that you want users of that group to manipulate (create, edit etc.)
    Permissions are inherited Downwards.
