Use user's language preferences on account creation email

Post by citystrolch » Fri May 03, 2019 9:12 am

I have a question (or maybe even feature proposal):
Can the language for notification emails be set on backend account creation?

This is the current situation that makes me ask this:
My client has a multilingual website and regularly creates user accounts (registered/frontend users) for his members from the backend. They really only need to login to see additional content, so no need for community builder or similar extensions. The problem is, that the people receive the account notification in the configured language of the admin creating the account, not in the language she selects in their new account's preferences.

I think this should be possible, as it makes no sense to send for example an italian person an account notification email in chinese, but the features of user account language settings for every one lead to exactly this. So there seems to be no way around sending emails in wrong languages, unless the admin changes her backend language preference every time before creating an account which is a terrible workflow to remember, also means that she needs to find her way around the backend in any language they offer, and also takes a lot of time even if she is actually that multilingual.
