"error_log" file in "administrator" directory

Post by N4ndee » Thu Nov 08, 2012 6:26 pm

I had installed Joomla 3.0.1 on my site, and noticed an "error_log" file, but not in "public_html", instead in "administrator". The file contained the following error:

Code: Select all

[04-Nov-2012 14:25:14 UTC] PHP Warning: Parameter 2 to plgContentJoomla::onContentAfterSave() expected to be a reference, value given in /home/***/public_html/libraries/joomla/event/event.php on line 71
The hosting support said it's a coding error in the file. The 71st line in the file is this:

Code: Select all

return call_user_func_array(array($this, $event), $args);
Since then, I have updated to 3.0.2, but not sure whether the problem has disappeared because I was only getting this error file when I was editing certain parts of my site, not sure which. I deleted the file, and it didn't show up for a while, even when editing my site, but today I have noticed it again, deleted it, and updated to 3.0.2. However, the 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 update package doesn't contain the file so I guess I would still get the error.

Hope your hosting environment meets the technical requirements specified at http://www.joomla.org/technical-requirements.html.

Probably you should this in a test environment with 3.0.2.

I'm at HostGator, and the environment meets all the requirements. When I asked them, they said it's a coding error and kryps said the same (http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f ... 9#p2930906).

So should I report this bug? Or is it even a bug?
